Nothing seems strange as the contest begins, but when the top eight robots enter the arena for the final event, the lights dim and the mysterious Mr. X appears.. Ladies and Gentlemen... I wish to thank you all for coming to see the final event of my 1st Annual Robot Tournament. As you know, I have kept the final event of the tournament a secret. This event will test the strength, skill and intelligence of each of these find robots. In fact, it will also test the strength and skill of each one of you. That may seem strange, but I'm sure you will understand when I explain that the final test for these robots is to help me conquer the world! MM6 does introduce some modifications to the "classic" MegaMan style : Rush is not a dog anymore, but he transforms into armor enhancements (Jet-MegaMan and Power-MegaMan). The end is not "classic" at all : no "MegaMan walks home" sequence + Dr.Wily doesn't get away (and he doesn't have that nice blue UFO anymore).

Tips'n'tricks

  • Because of the weapons needed to kill each of the robots, I recommend playing the levels in this order :
      1) Plantman, 2) Tomahawkman, 3) Yamatoman, 4) Knightman, 5) Centaurman, 6) Windman, 7) Flameman, 8) Blizzardman
    (if you want to get Beat and the Energy Balancer you will have to play some stages twice)
  • Beat, the robo-bird is back ! You must collect the B, E, A, and T circuit plates to be able to use Beat. The plates are not hidden, you get them when you beat some of the robot-masters BUT you must beat the robot-master in his hidden lair, not in his normal lair !! The plates can be found in following levels: B (Tomahawkman - after 2nd Met-machine take the lower path, you will need the Jet) E (Yamatoman - at one point you'll see two ladders, one going up and the other going down: go up, you will need the Jet) A (Knightman - after trampoline section, just before normal door, use Power-MegaMan to break the block in the path going down) T (Centaurman - you see the hidden door before going down to the normal one, use Jet to fly over to the hidden door)
  • You can find the Energy Balancer in Tomahawkman's level, after 2nd Met-machine go up, you will need Power-MegaMan to punch a block on the lower left of a ladder)

Rail-Robots

Two "thing" following a defined path, just avoid them and use Y.spear to destroy them.

Wall-Crawler

Moves up & down along the wall, firing various stuff at you. Use Silver.t to win.

Met-Tank

Use B.attack to defeat it.

End Sequence

when you defeat Dr.X, he is angry :-)

Dr.Wily

  1. Nice machine... similar to the one in MM5, use Silver.t
  2. Same machine, but a bit broken. Make him eat some more Silver.t
  3. Wily's UFO, same idea as in MM5 & MM4, you can only see him when he fires. Use normal fire (with Jet-MegaMan) to make him hit the ground!
  4. Dr.Wily surrenders... see "The End" for more

The End

Strange ending ! Dr.Wily surrenders, you capture him, and he does NOT get away in his blue UFO like he does in ALL other MM games (1 to 5).
"Triumphant at last, MegaMan arrested the notorious Dr.Wily and brought him to justice. Sentenced to prison for his crimes, Dr.Wily now rules over a prison cell. At long last, the world is at peace." little end-story

for the 1st time, Dr.Wily does not flee (but the end screen reads "to be continued")

 

Tools / Items

3 tools (2 Rush-robot-dog "tools" + 1 real tool) in Mega Man 6. You get the tools after completing specific levels:
Rush-Jet-MegaMan : Plantman, Rush-Power-MegaMan : Flameman. Energy Balancer : Tomahawkman.

Tool #1 : Jet-MegaMan :
  Rush transforms into a jetpack to help launch Mega Man into the sky!
Tool #2 : Power-MegaMan :
  Rush transforms into body armor and gives Mega Man an extra punch.
Tool #3 : Energy Balancer :
  This will automatically recharge Mega Man's lowest weapon energy level each time he picks up a weapon energy tank
